Your Hotel

The Rendezvous Hotel

Situated alongside the Leeds – Liverpool canal from where a one mile walk along the towpath leads to the heart of Skipton, one of the most popular gateways to the Yorkshire Dales. Malcolm and Karen Weaving, former owners of the Stirk House Hotel that we have used for several holidays in this area, own this modern purpose built hotel, so we can now look forward to more of their superb hospitality.

Holiday Details

The small village of Wray, with a population of less than 500, is situated not far away in the Lune Valley, on the other side of the Yorkshire/Lancashire border. The revival of the Wray scarecrow festival started in 1992 and there’s been no looking back. The number of scarecrows runs into three figures; the Giant scarecrows are mobile and stand more than twelve feet high.

In addition to the day in Wray, we will offer you a whole day coach excursion and a half day coach excursion in and around the Yorkshire Dales, and a half day to explore Skipton itself. We could even contemplate a canal trip directly to or from our hotel’s own mooring for those who are keen.

Our outward journey will include a leisurely stop for a reasonably priced freshly prepared farmhouse breakfast in a pretty little Northamptonshire village as well as a leisurely lunch stop in Yorkshire. We will arrive at the hotel with a sensible amount of time to unwind before dinner.

The return journey via the main A1 road and the M11 motorway will include comfort stops as well as a leisurely combined coffee and early lunch stop in Harrogate. We will plan to arrive home by mid evening.
