Chilton Country Pub
and Hotel
The intimate Chilton Country Pub and Hotel at Houghton-le-Spring has undergone a recent total refurbishment. Its total number of bedrooms is limited to 25, so regrettably we are unable to offer any single rooms on this holiday. However, on a more positive note, double and twin rooms are available on the ground floor.

Whitby is renowned for its stunning coastline and delicious award-winning fish & chips, thanks in part, to the local fishing industry. You could take the steam bus around town, visit the Abbey that stands high above the town, or simply walk along the sandy beaches below West Cliff. Hence, a 3 hour coffee/lunch stop in Whitby is easily justified. Afterwards the 2pm steam train will take you to the attractive market town of Pickering. Having had time to look around and enjoy some afternoon refreshment we will return to our hotel.
We’ll spend the other day showing you the delights of Durham City and the Durham Dales.
The outward journey will include one of our popular farmhouse breakfast stops and a lunch stop in Wetherby. The return journey will include a lengthy coffee/early lunch stop in Harrogate.
